Schools in Nashville

If you have children, it doesn't matter if you're relocating to the Nashville area or just moving across town to a new house, the first decision you'll need to make is where to send your kids to school. This guide is intended to get you started.

Metro Nashville has some wonderful public schools. I can show you how to check into which Davidson County schools are performing well and which ones are struggling. Williamson County is known for its schools and many families move to Williamson County just for their public schools. However there are pitfalls to being zoned to a school in a booming growth area and we'll discuss that.

Finally, Nashville has some of the best private schools in the nation. Although they can be pricey, they are certainly worth considering. And many Nashville familes wouldn't consider anything other than private schools for their kids.

With all this said, the best method of assessing a school is to schedule a visit. You need to tour the building, talk to the teachers and administration, check out the lunchroom and the library. From there you can begin to make sense of all the charts and data and figure out what's best for your family.

As a native Nashvillian with 4 children who have attended both public and private schools, I can give a bit of insight and perspective. I can also arrange for you to tour the schools. Tell me what's important to you, and I'll help you get started. And once the school decision is made, we'll begin to focus on where you want to live.
